The Waterford Table Runner (No. 01-C) gives the Waterford Collection its fullest expression at the table, allowing the pattern to extend uninterrupted across the entire surface.
Deep navy and midnight blue form the foundation of the composition, layered with softened blue, cream marble-like passages and fine gold-toned lines. Sweeping curves meet structured arches, circles and linear forms, while delicate botanical details appear at intervals throughout. The effect is architectural but fluid — a composition with enough variation to reward a closer look.
Unlike the more restrained Waterford runners, No. 01-C does not reserve a quiet central field. Instead, the pattern becomes the foundation of the entire table setting. Plates, serving pieces, flowers and glassware sit directly upon the design, concealing some passages while revealing others. As dishes are placed, moved and removed throughout the meal, the runner continually presents a slightly different composition.
Despite its richness, the predominantly blue palette keeps the design composed. Cream passages introduce light, gold-toned detailing brings warmth and definition, and the small botanical elements soften the stronger geometry. It works particularly well with simple tableware that allows the pattern to remain visible — white and cream ceramics, clear glass, silver or gold-toned accents and natural materials all provide an elegant counterpoint.
Style it over a bare table for maximum impact, or layer it over a solid tablecloth when a more dressed setting is called for.
