The Waterford Table Runner (No. 01-B) brings the composed, architectural character of the Waterford Collection to the table, pairing richly patterned borders with a deep blue centre.
Layered shades of navy, midnight and softened blue move along either side, intersected by cream marble-like passages, fine gold-toned lines and delicate botanical details. Curves, arches and structured geometric forms give the design its rhythm, while the uninterrupted blue running through the centre creates a strong, beautifully restrained foundation.
The darker centre gives No. 01-B a notably different presence from its cream counterpart. Serving dishes, flowers, candles and tableware sit against a field of saturated blue, while glimpses of the Waterford pattern remain visible along the edges. As the table fills, those patterned passages appear between place settings and serving pieces, allowing the design to become part of the setting rather than compete with it.
There is an understated formality to the composition that works particularly well for evening dinners and more considered occasions, yet it remains versatile enough for everyday entertaining. Against lighter woods, the blue provides depth and contrast; on darker tables, the cream and gold-toned details along the borders become especially pronounced.
