The Crescendo Women’s Quilted Jacket (No. 03) brings the collection’s exuberant composition to a lightly padded outer layer designed for cooler days, changing seasons and moments that call for a little more colour.
Across the body, sweeping forms in burgundy, coral, orange, blush, cream and warm gold overlap and curl into one another, creating a composition that initially reads as richly layered abstraction. Look more closely and the artwork begins to reveal itself: calabashes and gourds emerge from petal-like forms, intricate markings appear within sweeping curves, and spirals carry small letterforms worked discreetly into the design. What seems immediately familiar becomes more interesting the longer it is considered.
Solid deep-red quilted sleeves frame the composition, allowing the artwork to remain the focus while giving the jacket a strong, clean silhouette. The patterned stand collar continues the design upward, while a black full-length zip provides a crisp vertical line through the centre.
The scale of Crescendo No. 03 is particularly effective across the jacket. Rather than resolving into an obvious repeat, the artwork moves across the body in broad gestures, allowing different details to come forward depending on where the eye lands. From a distance, colour and movement lead; at closer range, the concealed forms and finer details begin to emerge.
Lightweight padding provides warmth without excessive bulk, making the jacket well suited to transitional weather, morning commutes, travel and cool evenings. Its regular silhouette layers comfortably over everyday clothing, while two slanted front pockets are integrated discreetly into the design.
