Across the body, sculptural calabashes and decorative vessels emerge from sweeping curves, spirals, botanical forms and intricate hand-drawn markings. Midnight blue, charcoal, ivory and warm ochre-gold move through the composition, with one form flowing into the next rather than resolving into a conventional repeat. The effect is richly graphic from a distance and increasingly detailed on closer inspection.
The jacket gives the artwork an especially strong canvas.
