Where work meets a wider view.
The Bathurst Desk Mat (No. 01) brings the collection’s richly composed landscape across a generous working surface, transforming the desk into a place for work, thought and perhaps a little perspective.
Across the mat, a pale winding river travels through forested hills towards distant mountains. A timber cabin sits quietly at the water’s edge, while sculptural botanicals, dark berries and finely drawn trees emerge throughout the surrounding landscape.
Bathurst’s more abstract language moves through the scene at the same time. Sweeping curves, architectural forms and fine golden lines divide and frame portions of the landscape, while a slender symbol of authority rises at one side of the composition. The result sits somewhere between landscape and abstraction — immediately striking from a distance, with considerably more to discover at closer range.
In deep navy, olive, warm ivory and muted gold, Bathurst No. 01 has a particularly assured character. The darker palette gives the landscape depth, while expanses of ivory illuminate the river and mountains and fine gold-toned details bring definition to the composition.
The desk mat's broad horizontal proportions give the artwork room to unfold. Rather than behaving like a conventional repeating pattern, the eye travels across it — from botanical forms and distant trees to mountains, river, cabin and the smaller details concealed between them.
A slim black border provides a clean frame around the composition and allows the artwork to sit confidently against both dark and light work surfaces.
Beyond its visual character, the Bathurst Desk Mat (No. 01) provides a comfortable, generous foundation for the working day. The smooth neoprene surface accommodates a keyboard, mouse, notebook and other desk essentials, while the non-slip backing helps keep the mat securely in place.
Available in three sizes, it can suit everything from a compact laptop arrangement to a more expansive workstation.
For the work in front of you — and the view beyond it.
