The Crescendo Umbrella (No. 01) brings the collection’s expressive composition to an everyday essential, pairing intricate illustration with a rich palette of burgundy, plum, black, warm gold and cream.
Across the canopy, sweeping forms flow into one another in a densely layered composition. Sculptural calabashes and decorative vessels emerge among broad petal-like curves, curling spirals, botanical details and intricate hand-drawn markings. Some forms are immediately recognizable; others seem to dissolve into the surrounding artwork, revealing themselves gradually with a closer look.
The segmented canopy gives Crescendo a particularly dynamic canvas. As the artwork travels across the individual panels, vessels, curves and botanical forms are enlarged, cropped and continued in unexpected ways. An elongated calabash may command one section while another reveals a bowl, a spiral, a botanical detail or a patterned passage tucked between larger forms. Seen from above, the composition becomes almost kaleidoscopic; viewed from beneath, the umbrella’s structural framework introduces another layer of geometry to the fluid artwork.
Open, Crescendo No. 01 has considerable presence. Deep burgundy and plum bring warmth and richness to the composition, while black provides depth and warm gold and cream illuminate the broader curves and decorative details. The result is expressive and dramatic without losing its sense of refinement. Folded away, the artwork compresses into a richly patterned accessory that remains distinctive even when carried rather than opened.
Made from 100% polyester pongee, the canopy is waterproof and quick-drying, supported by eight fibre ribs for structure. A semi-automatic mechanism allows for convenient one-handed opening, while the black rubber handle provides a comfortable grip and the attached wrist strap makes it easier to carry between uses. A coordinating printed sleeve keeps the folded umbrella neatly contained.

Leave the umbrella open to dry completely after use. Wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth as needed.
