The Waterford Table Runner (No. 01) brings the composed, architectural character of the Waterford Collection to the table, balancing a broad warm cream centre with richly patterned borders in layered shades of blue.
Along either side, deep navy, midnight and softened blue forms intersect with marble-like passages, fine gold-toned lines and delicate botanical details. Curves and structured geometry give the borders a sense of rhythm, while the restrained centre provides a quiet counterpoint to the richness of the design.
The composition has been deliberately arranged around the way a table is actually dressed. Serving dishes, flowers, candles and tableware can occupy the generous central ground, while Waterford remains visible along the edges — appearing between place settings and revealing different fragments of colour, line and pattern as the eye travels along the table.
There is a certain formality to Waterford No. 01, but it need not be reserved for formal occasions. Against natural wood, the cream centre and deep blues create striking contrast; layered over a tablecloth, the runner takes on a more dressed character. Navy, cream, white, gold-toned metals and clear glassware all sit particularly naturally alongside it.
